A large sum was realized from the sale of pies. Dr. M. McClymond of Indianola is elected to fill the school superintendent vacancy left by H. P. Schell who takes a federal post as educational instructor in a CCC camp on the Canadian border. Mr. and Mrs. Homer Lancaster visited in Oskaloosa while Miss Elizabeth Wilcox spent Sunday there. Harvey now has as much snow as last winter.

Be home in Lynnville last Thursday afternoon as Andrew Verwers Carroll and Ward Ver Steeg and Elbert Van Den Berg left for Chicago and returned Sunday morning. Van Den Berg drove a thirty three Chevrolet coupe. Mrs Peter Van Arkel and children Willian and Patricia visit the Geenen family. The Howard family and Bobby were dinner guests of the Eldridges on Thanksgiving. An old fashioned blizzard left the town snowbound for several days and mail was unavailable.

Hunters Injured In Car Crash Near Garner No Fatalities Reported
Maines Saturday forenoon lost control of their car on the via ducti on Highway 16 just west of Garner. The vehicle struck the guard railing, loosened six posts, and toppled toward a 25 foot embankment. One man suffered a scalp wound and was taken to a Garner physician. The party headed toward Forest City to hunt near the north side of the overhead bridge amid rumors of four hunters killed on the viaduct.
