After fifty years of marriage Mr Garbrey G Klyn and Mrs Klyn celebrate their golden wedding next Thursday September 7 with open house at the social hall of the First Reformed Church from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm friends are invited no gifts Sybenea Photo
Linda Groenendyk and Mrs Willis Groenendyk were honored at a double bridal shower at the home of Mrs Dennis Groenendyk on June 29 with co hosts. Guests included numerous Groenendyk and related families. A July 11 surprise shower and a July 21 double shower followed with games gifts and lunch. An engagement notice announces Coleen Roose's engagement to Glenn Van Dyke with details on their backgrounds and plans.
Mary Van Heukelom was honored with multiple bridal showers in August at homes of family and friends including Mitt Deloteé Van Roekel and Mrs. Jacob Vos. Attendees included numerous relatives and classmates, with gifts opened and refreshments served. The bride elect, Miss M. Heukelom, is set to wed Carl Tyssel ing on September 5.
Central College hosts its annual pre school faculty and administration meet Thursday and Friday in the college library. Sessions begin at 9 a.m. with a coffee hour and conclude with a faculty dinner Friday at Graham Hall. Dean Haverkamp cites plans to discuss development, form committees, review current functions, and draft a report to the Iowa Department of Education on teachers training.
The Klein family reunion at West Market Park on August 23 honored Agatha Grundman and her daughter Susan of Inglewood California visiting Mr and Mrs D R Gosselink and relatives. About 100 relatives from Ankeny Des Moines Monroe Knoxville Fremont Cedar Wright Oskaloosa New Sharon Pella and Memphis Mo shared a cooperative supper and renewed acquaintances. Sharon Vande Kieft was honored at a bridal shower on August 21 at the home of Mr and Mrs Jake Monster Route 3 Enaville co hosted by Mr and Mrs Stanley Beyer. Sharon wed Keith Langstraat on August 25. John Breed announced the engagement of Marcene Breed to Larry Dean Renaud of Sully.
