The Future Homemakers of America at Pella Community High School held a planning meeting in the new homemaking department with adviser Mrs. Harter. Attending were President Brenda Van Dyke and other officers as they approved the 1962-63 program “Your future in Home Economics” and laid out activities including Daddy Date Night and a nursery school for Christmas shoppers. They scheduled a district planning meeting for August 24 at Mingo, Iowa, with district officer Lois Terlouw and other representatives.
Mr and Mrs D W Wild man of Pella hosted a bon voyage gathering for Dr and Mrs C B Welle on August 8. The Welles plan a six week European tour beginning August 17 aboard a Rotterdam sailing.
The buffet table at the party was decorated with miniature flags for the Janus and Noral Renee farewell. Guests included Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Wisgerhof and Carlene, Mr. and Mrs. L. F. Wisgerhof, Sully, Mrs. Jirma Voss, Mr. and Mrs. James Tyler, Dr. A E. Sterling of Newton, Dennis Wisgerhof of Oakland, Calif, Mr. and Mrs. Gerri Vis, Mrs. Marie Versteegh, Bertha Wisgerhof of Pella, and A. I. Sterling and sons Scott Eric and Brett of Postville.
