There is on file in the Clerk of the District Court of Marion County Iowa a will and testament of Jennie Langerak deceased. A hearing before the Clerk is set for 10:00 a.m. on August 22, 1955 at Knoxville Town to prove the instrument. Objections must be filed on or before that date. Jack B. Sully Reformed defeated Nelson Texaco of Newton 5 to 2 to capture the Invitational softball title. Lee Nikkel earned the win with eight strikeouts, Marvin Blom hit a two run homer, and Seymour Zylstra added two singles as Sully built a three run second inning and held on. Percy Runner and Percy needed extra innings to win the consolation title, while Nikkel also contributed a double and single.
Sully overcame Indees as five runs crossed in the third. The decisive run scored in the eighth on an error after Walker was hit. Pitchers Van Veen Cunningham fanned eight. Percy led with 11 hits off Blum. Cunningham and Timmons each had two for Sully. Brand added two singles.
