DIES FROM INJURIES IN AUTO CRASH
Francis Green twenty, of Albia, died at Albia hospital from injuries after a Burlington passenger struck his truck Monday near Sheehan’s switch four miles north of Albia. He worked as a Wright Construction Co. driver. His truck lay on the track when the engine hit it, wreckage destroyed the vehicle. He was removed from the wreckage onto the train.

Couple Injured at Rock Island Crossing Near Colfax
Mr and Mrs James Leonard were injured when their car was struck by a Rock Island passenger train at a Colfax crossing while driving to their farm. The car was demolished and dragged about 200 feet. Mrs Leonard regained consciousness on Sunday while Mr Leonard remained in a coma under analgesic treatment.

Dan Fisk of New Sharon in Mahaska County threshed oats from 154 acres this week yielding 8041 bushels an average just over fifty bushels per acre. He raised 30 acres on his own place and 124 acres on the Drennan farm southwest of town. Some larger fields exist but his achievement stands high among contemporary yields reported.

Car leaps over weeds after rise in road crash
In Keokuk County News, an accident left a car leaping six feet into the air over roadside weeds. The rise triggering the leap measured about twelve inches. The injured was taken to Delta for medical care. Mr. Groom, a Des Moines I Packing Company employee, is father to two young children.

Bull Causes Bad Auto Wreck Near Ottumwa
A car driven by Joseph Orndorff of Ottumwa crashed into a bull on Eddyville road two and a half miles west of Ottumwa Sunday evening about 7 30. The car went down a twenty five foot embankment into a ditch with all four wheels in the air. Passengers included Rose Matthews Harold Canfield Etta West Edward Coates and Paul Orndorff all of Ottumwa and Chillicothe residents. The driver was seriously injured and taken to Ottumwa hospital with others sustaining injuries and cuts. The bull was killed and owned by J M Russell west of Ottumwa.
