Iowa Supreme Court Rules on Reapportionment Plan

The Iowa Supreme Court held that the 1965 multi county temporary reapportionment plan may be corrected by the 1967 legislature without a special session. It addressed Section 37 of Article III prohibiting county division and whether subdistricting in multi seat counties is constitutional. Justices split on necessity of subdistricting beyond Polk County, with Mason urging Polk only and five Republicans extending to all multi seat counties.
