Pella High Wins Invitational Meet at Kuyper Stadium
Pella High track team edged Albia for first in the Central College Invitational at Kuyper Stadium. Pella totaled 62 1/2 points to Albia 51, with six firsts and new meet records including 880 yd relay and 120 yd high hurdles. Johnston and Pleasantville led other contenders as weather remained perfect for the event.

Tragedy in Town as Girl Dies After Car Hits Shedding Parking
A driver told police he saw a small girl rolling in the street after a light impact near her home in a residential Iowa town. The five year old died before aid arrived while neighbors called ambulances. The driver, shaken, spoke of springtime dangers to children near streets.
