Word from Mingo notes former junior high principal Donald Breisch resigns to become Chester Iowa superintendent. Chester, Howard County, population 234, hosts a high school with 38 students this year. Mrs Amy Vander Schaaf Breisch will head the kindergarten department. Many local residents shift between Mercy Hospital Os kaloosa and area towns, with visitors from Huntingdon Pennsylvania and New York City.

Curious Savage cast named by audience judges at Central College
Plainview School Children toured the Chronicle Office and Zearing Iowa while Ed Parsis a Highland Park New Jersey senior was named among the best actors by audiences for The Curious Savage at Central College March 22 and 23. An ace played the comedy lead Savage placed in a rest home by two greedy children Lilly Belle Elaine and Titus Ed. Helen and Ron portrayed two humorous inmates of the home Daisy Mae and Hannibal.

Eighth Graders Tour Des Moines From Pella Christian
The eighth grade class from Pella Christian Grade School and two teachers visited Des Moines on April 5. They toured Municipal Airport and U S Weather Service, Coca Cola Plant, TV stations WHO and the R F D Show, Bishop's Cafeteria, Des Moines Fire Department dormitory and station, Colonial Baking, and received pencils and bread samples.

Plainview students tour town after printing Chronicle
Throughout the year Plainview students devote one day weekly to activities. Winter basketball highlighted the period while spring brought baseball and field trips. A group including a teacher and two mothers watched the Chronicle being printed then toured the post office. They planned future visits to Sybenga Bakery and other local businesses. The observation was long but enjoyable.
