Pella Roads to Jasper County Line to be Hard Surfaced This Year
At the quarterly Chamber of Commerce meeting President Ellis Christianson reported that the road north of Pella to the Jasper County line will be hard surfaced this year. The Jasper County supervisors plan to extend the hard surfacing northward toward Kellogg linking with the new superhighway, with the Pella to Howell Station segment also slated for surfacing. The Sully and Galesburg routes were reviewed, with the better condition and wider grade favoring the Galesburg road. Plans include continued work toward improved northward access and Tulip Time fundraising progress, plus a profitable move for the Chamber operated motion picture theatre in cooperation with Central College.
