Crumbs and crambas shape breakfasts, casseroles, and meat loaves, while toasted cheese and poppy seed sticks boost soups.
Poultry Marketing in Iowa Remains Largely Individual
Iowa findings show cooperative marketing is rare among poultry and egg producers. Dr. A D Oderkirk of Iowa State College notes Iowa farmers market poultry mainly through private channels with only small flocks under 200 birds and most under 400. Even large turkey raisers are largely commercial but still do not rely on co operatives.

Co operatives urged to merge poultry and egg shipments
Oderkirk notes early specialized co operatives faded and many co ops handle eggs and poultry under general departments. He says creameries excel at equality, but small flocks hinder volume. Consolidation and central marketing could boost returns by better grading and cost control.
