Wassen 18 and Willis Vander Horst 19, were fined $100 each in Justice of the Peace court for tampering with a motor vehicle after stealing hub caps from cars near Central College. Paul Bogaard Named Rolscreen Scholar at Central College
Paul Bogaard 17 son of Mrs Mable Bogaard 505 W Third Pella named a Rolscreen Scholarship winner by Central College admissions director Richard Tysseling. One of five winners and two alternates, Bogaard joins William De Jong Richard Schmidt James Hoekstra and Janis Johnson as full scholars with alternates Gary Rogers and Richard Afman. Scholarships cover full tuition 750 yearly or 500 for alternates, awarded for one year extendable to four with B average. Bogaard graduates Pella Community High in May and pursues medicine as a vocational goal while active in activities and student government.

City to Repair Paint Electric Plant Stack
The 230-foot stack at Pella Electric Light and Power Plant will be repaired this summer after lightning damage. Des Moines engineers will inspect conditions by climbing the stack, a process costing over $600. Plans include trimming the top, adding a concrete cap and lightning arresters, weather sealing, and repainting for protection.
