Liquid Fertilizer Rates and Practicalities
Iowa State College tests show dry and liquid fertilizers with equal nutrient amounts deliver similar yields. Key decisions hinge on handling convenience and cost per nutrient unit. Advantages include easy pumping, uniform mixtures, and soil spraying or irrigation use. Disadvantages cover metal corrosion, equipment needs, and maintaining a 1-3 or narrower N to P ratio. Low analysis limits per application may require more gallons per acre than some gear can handle.
