In four-score-and-ten years the old Anthony Weeshaw farm rail fence northwest of Birmingham faced decay. Marty Roberts and Bernard Woodrow tore out eighty rails, revealing a wall in surprisingly good condition for reuse as firwood. Van Buren County still holds several such fences. Nearby, literary notes promise fiction and a tale of spiritual values as Harvey Dennis returns from university after a checkered path.
