Train Wreck Kills 2 Injures 9 On Texas & Pacific Train
A Texas and Pacific special train carrying band members and fans to a TCU UCLA game wrecked near Millsap on Tuesday night. Two — engineer Leonard J. Perry and conductor N. McNeely, both Fort Worth men — died instantly, nine were injured including A. E. Pistole, Division Superintendent of Big Spring, whose arm was ripped open. Influx Of Troops For Biannual Maneuvers Reaches Balmorhea
More than six thousand soldiers are massing in Balmorhea for October biannual maneuvers. Two camp bases established near the Balmorhea depot and Phantom Lake. Fort Sam Houston infantry and artillery units totaling 175 men arrived under Capt. Johnny Johnson, plus 225 men from Fort Bliss, and 150 engineers from Fort McIntosh arrived.
