The work’s authorship is debated and it is now kept in Bayeux Normandy, valued as a record of period costumes and customs. The piece is believed to have been made in Bayeux Cathedral under church direction or possibly by Matilda’s ladies, with one person taking about a year to embroider 39 square inches.
Barstow travels to Fort Stockton for the season opener in a Friday or Saturday game aimed at starting their Interscholastic League run. Pecos fans plan to attend to gauge Barstow’s lineup as Barstow also meets Pecos later this month. The Barstow squad shows strong potential with a solid coach and heavy players, while Fort Stockton historically performs well against Pecos.
