Oil Well Fire Quenched Near McCamey Texas
Flames from Humble Oil No. 1 H.J. Cowden well eight miles south of McCamey in Crockett County were put out by Red Adair firefighers from Houston. The well blew out on Sunday at 7000 feet, causing a $300000 rig to be destroyed with no injuries.
