Headquarters for fine furniture Pecos Furniture Co. traces back to 1931 when it grew from the old Pecos Mercantile. L W Anderson M W Collie and A B Tinnin bought the furniture department and opened in the present South Oak Street building. W S McCree has managed the store for 26 years with staff including Charlie Meek S J Villaloboz Antonio Herrera Luis Ortiz Lyndel Elkins and Pat Leverage. The shop carries La Z Boy Kroehler Massoud Southland United Thomasville and Garrison brands Sealy bedding and a broad selection of carpets from Lee Onticello Milliken Armstrong and Evans Black. Armstrong Vinyl is popular for high traffic areas.
