Hammon of Dallas filed to drill No. 3 McElreath as a 1/4 mile northwest offset to a Pennsylvanian gas and Connell oil operation in Sheffield Townsite. Hammon’s No. 2 McElreath flows reported at 66 barrels of oil in an hour and 17 barrels in two hours with gas later appearing. Mark Production Co. plugged No. 1 Harris in the Pecos Valley East field. Inexco Oil Co. is drilling below 4,400 feet in a 17,560-foot well northeast of Fort Stockton. Lone Star Producing Co. No. 1 Bill DeWitt progresses toward the Gomez gas field, drilling below 22,646 feet near Fort Stockton.
