Pecos and Barstow volunteer firemen attended the Permian Basin Firemen's Association Fall Convention in Denver City Saturday. Pecos fire chief J.T. Prewit is association president and Dicky Wadley is secretary. Barstow's department took second in the pumper race and best all around team. Pecos won second in the six man hose scramble and attendance trophy and first in a special race. Pecos fielded 12 men and Barstow 11. Parents of Pecos High School students are invited to meet teachers tonight at 7 36 p.m. to visit classrooms.

A Monahans family James Torbett Betty Torbett and four year old Wayne were rescued after their fishing boat capsized near Balmorhea Lake.
