Cow tops state fair sale with 26000 bid and shows
A full French female bought by Ralph Gill of Alvarado Texas sold for 26000 at the State Fair Spectacular cattle sale. The sale featured 64 lots totaling 294600 with bids from North Texas Bluebonnet Charolais. Hunt Ranch also sold the top bull at 11600. Judging listed champions across Charolais Shorthorns and swine divisions.

A two car crash at Veterans and Hackberry streets at 8 a m sent a 16 year old girl to Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. She was treated and released. Carla Beth McGeary 17 fled Missouri Street was in the other car. McGeary was eastbound and attempted a left turn onto Hackberry striking Sharon Kay Sinclair 24 of Mike Burkholder. Elma Carares 16 of Air base was charged with leaving the scene and no license after a collision on South Oak Street.
