Segretti sabotage aims to split Democrats in 1972 race
Miami Young Republican Martin Douglas Kelly testified at the Watergate hearings that Donald Segretti’s campaign of dirty tricks sought to divide Democratic presidential candidates and provoke backbiting. He described fake Muskie leaflets, phony ads, stink bombs, and misrepresented letters to Dean, Jackson, Muskie, and Humphrey, with pay to disrupt conventions in Miami Beach.
