West Texas ranch heritage comes alive at Lubbock event
In Lubbock on October 6, the Ranch Headquarters Association hosts a outdoorsy exhibit at the Ranch Headquarters just east of the Museum of Texas Tech University. Matador Tribune editor Doug Meador dedicates the Matador Office Building donated by Matador Cattle Company in honor of Fred Chase Koch. The event features “A Day at the Ranch” with a turn of century ranch scene and a Tex Tech Puppeteers program led by art professor Peggy Howard. The site includes thirteen buildings and two windmills with twenty two structures planned by completion. The project has earned recognition from the American Revolution Bicentennial Commission for a 1976 completion in time for the Bicentennial.
