Garden Club Show Proves A Big Hit In Pecos Event
The Merry Home and Garden club fifth annual spring flower show drew over 700 visitors despite winds and a late freeze. More than 175 entries earned 97 ribbons with prizes to Mrs. J. L. Morrison for most ribbons. Featured displays included miniature gardens, a Japanese garden, piano performances, and a cacti exhibit by Sam Winkler of Guadalupe Cactus Nursery. City council held a busy session at city hall approving a 25 percent salary cut for all city employees and halting center parking downtown.
