Farmers Kidnapwomen in Hidalgo de Parral Land Dispute
In Hidalgo de Parral Mexico two women were kidnapped after a clash between 2000 farmers and workers over a land dispute on 1600 acres. Two campesinos were killed and five injured in gunfire as landowner Josefina Steel Diamond her sister Graciela Olguin and staff attempted to drive off the intruders. Olguin was also injured and authorities believed the pair were held on the land.

Charges Filed On Escapees From Cleveland County Jail
Norman Oklahoma AP arraignments continued for two of three men accused in a Cleveland County jail breakout tied to a South Texas capture. George Stidham and Jerry Miller asked for court appointed attorneys. Tommy Leroy Bacon pleaded innocent to the escape charge and faced new 3000 dollar bond plus existing burglary bond. The trio also faces federal kidnapping charges in the abduction of Barry Lui, OU student from Tulsa. Stidham was formally arraigned on murder in the January 20 shotgun death of Jackie Jo Unsell of Oklahoma City, the case linked to the escape on April 24.
