Train hits school bus in Congers three children dead
A Penn Central freight train struck a school bus at a private crossing in Congers Rockland County New York killing at least three of the about 30 high school pupils aboard. The 83 car train from Weehawken New Jersey to Selkirk New York pushed the bus a quarter mile. Police described the crossing as lacking warning devices and ownership undetermined.

Reeves County Commissioners Discuss Truck Bid for Precinct 4
In a special session Reeves County Commissioners reviewed two bids for a Precinct 4 work truck. Neither bid was accepted pending additional unit information. Barstow and Muleshoe join the UTPB book drive with a culmination set for April 6 a victory luncheon in Andrews hosted by Mrs. Cecil Gerber and committee. As of March 24 the total reached 76,139 books with 64,316 by March 22 Pecos residents contributed 4,000 books.
