The Pecos Enterprise announced the first two winners Mrs. Rey Tarango and Mrs. Sylvia Guerra. Winners must present winning Bingo cards by 3 p.m. Monday to claim $50 in Bingo Bucks as the sixteenth week of the program unfolds with blue cards now in play.
In Illinois, Senator Edmund Muskie faces rival Eugene McCarthy in a presidential preference vote and competes with George McGovern for delegates to the Democratic National Convention. Two million voters are expected, with many delegates still uncommitted to any candidate.
AP reports at least 118 people killed across Japan during weekend snowstorms and avalanches. Nineteen climbers died on Mt Fuji with 6 missing after winds to 90 mph triggered an avalanche. Police say 12 fishermen drowned near the Danjo Islands and 85 died in traffic accidents Sunday and Monday.
The weekly survey by G W Murphy Attributes an uptick of 12 active rigs in the Permian Basin Empire across 65 counties. This week there were 159 units on location, up from 147 last week, according to county by county tables.

Texas Highway Department crews seal cracks on Hwy 285 between Third and Walthall Streets using eight men three trucks and a roller to pour asphalt and spread surface in one quarter sections. Merle Miller the Maintenance Foreman expects the job to finish in under two weeks. The block was last repaired about four years ago.
The Pecos Country Music Association hosts a 7 30 p m jamboree at South Pecos Elementary Cafetorium with acts including the Jimmy Bryant family Tommy Williamson family John Jackson family and Lessie Woodard family. Others like Bob Wells Harry Reddick Clint Grizzard Jim Payne Randy Hargrove Wilford Wagner and Billy Jack Norwood perform. gospel singers Lana and Jimmy Watson join from Wink.
