Saragosa Gun Victim Dies After Shootings

Saragosa farmer died at midnight Wednesday from wounds received in last Friday’s shooting near Baker garage. J. W. Goode, 60, pioneer of Saragosa, is jailed in Reeves County on murder charges. Down’s death follows six days of treatment including blood transfusions from his brother and a friend. Funeral held at the Downs home with burial in Fort Stockton Cemetery. Rev. Ramage officiated.

Train schedules on the Texas and Pacific were disrupted Sunday and Monday by a burning of a bridge on the railroad tracks at Hillside station about eight miles west of Toyah. Normal traffic was not restored until Monday night.
