Wednesday sessions included Job Corps and job opportunities by Ed Graves and Joe Carpenter of the Texas Employment Commission. Lewis Riley of Odessa College spoke on Career Building. The staff wrapped up the meeting at noon.

School men to attend National Conference on Bilingual Education
Superintendent Ray Whitley and Assistant Superintendent C. W. Wright will attend the National Conference on Bilingual Education in Austin April 13 14 and 15. Pecos Barstow schools plan a bilingual program in some first grade sections for 1972 1973. Noted leaders in bilingual education will headline the program and attendance is seen as valuable for local implementation.

Students govern city arms dogs in Pecos Council meeting
On Student Government Day Pecos City Council voted to arm animal control officer Ronnie Schneider with a 22 caliber pistol to defend against attacking dogs. The council also moved to enforce personal property taxes on mobile homes after only 71 of 152 owners paid in 1971, warning the rate could fall further without action.

Reeves County hosts youth employment workshop at Holiday Inn
The Reeves County Community Council hosted a two day employment workshop at the Holiday Inn Motel. Eighteen participants registered from Community Councils of Pecos County Big Bend Midland and Pecos. Rachel Kirkwood director welcomed guests as the meeting began. Richard Ratliff from Austin spoke for the Governor's Council on Youth and outlined the program to explore opportunities for youth in education and employment.
