Beecher High principal dies by own hand in racial protest letter
Paul L. Cabell Jr. 26, Beecher High School assistant principal and discipline chief, wrote a farewell letter to students claiming his death would press the need to end racial problems. He urged black students and white students to work together, and his widow released the letter. Police noted his Feb. 24 death followed several student clashes at the 1,000 pupil school in Flint area.
