Book drive awards in Pecos and bids for new building

Pecos Golf Shop was burglarized between 6 30 and 9 p m Wednesday entry gained through a broken east window and four pairs of knit slacks were stolen along with about 15 in change from a vending machine and cash register. The burglar exited through a rear door Golf Pro Bill Wilson said his son was at the shop about 9 p m and saw the back door open.

Congressman's Wife Dies in Apparent Carbox monoxide Death
The wife of Texas congressman Richard C. White, Katherine White, 42, died of apparent carbon monoxide poisoning. Found by her son Raymond in the Chevy Chase home garage, police ruled the death accidental pending autopsy. Another son Richard, 18, was found unconscious but in good condition.

James Henson found guilty of perjury in U.S. District Court
James Walter Henson was convicted of two counts of knowingly giving false testimony in a Grand Jury proceeding in August 1969 after about four and a half hours of deliberation.
