Davis Mountains State Park Nears Reality in Texas

Barry Scobee reports from Alpine that Texas may establish a Davis mountains state park within 60 to 90 days as the legislature authorizes borrowing from the Reconstruction Finance Corporation to buy land for parks in Palo Duro canyon and the Davis range. The plan ties park land to dams and forest work, aiming for self liquidating funding through concessions and tourism while linking observatory and historic sites for a grand regional vision.
