Pecos City Water Department under S. B. Hunt reports three major projects: two new wells in the Ward County Pecos well field, East Side sewer line extensions, and a feasibility study for expanding sewage treatment. An active Pecos High School student, she was F F A Sweetheart nominee, volleyball and cheerleader for three years, homeroom president as a freshman, Library Club member in junior year, and a member of West Texas Trail Riders Association and West Park Baptist Church. The pageant is sponsored to promote the cotton industry by Cotton Crusaders, chaired by Maxine Tharp. Mrs. Jack Duke leads the organization. A contest entry requires a wardrobe of all cotton.
