Reeves County reports December and 1971 sales of United States Savings Bonds series E and H. County total reaches 9 476 with 102 percent of the local goal. Statewide 1971 bond sales hit 199 830 508 or 110 percent of the goal. Nationwide December sales rise 14 4 percent from 1970.

Pecos residents woke to six inches of snow with .31 inches of moisture reported by SWIG. The storm produced a 47 degree high and 29 degree low, caused no accidents, and did not disrupt schools. Travel warnings remained for western mountains while clouds and showers spread across South and West Texas.
