North an IRS officer explained the Federal price control program its independent wage and price boards the complaint process and retail price posting rules. He noted exemptions for retailers under 100000 in revenue and that penalties require year end audits unless unusual complaints arise.

Four New Directors Named by First National Bank of Pecos
J T Moore Jr president of First National Bank of Pecos announced four new directors to join the bank board at the February 10 stockholders meeting. They are Fred P Armstrong A B Foster Jr John M Moore and Charles A Weinacht. Armstrong a Pecos native and Texas Tech graduate served as a Navy flt eng officer in WWII and later became a consulting engineer and public surveyor in Reeves County. Foster born in Pioneer attended Abilene High School Hardin Simmons and has led farming Pecos Presidio and Cayonosa ventures and serves in multiple civic roles. Pecos City Council held its regular meeting Thursday approving a lease with Dan Sheafer to develop a miniature golf course in Municipal Park, with Sheafer paying ten percent of gross income. The panel denied Texas Highway Department traffic control recommendations for U.S. 80 intersections at Eddy Cypress Oak and Cedar Streets, and authorized City Manager J J Maxey to request a meeting with the HD Chief Engineer.

Texas filing fees ruled unconstitutional by Supreme Court
The Supreme Court refused to stay a lower court ruling that Texas filing fees to finance primaries are unconstitutional. Dallas federal judges previously struck the law, which set up to four percent of a candidate salary, as unconstitutional and argued it funds primaries. Governor Smith and Lt. Gov.
