Pecos mail begins earlier departures under a new United States Postal Service program. Weekday dispatches move to 3:30 and 4:30 p.m., Saturday mail at 2:30 and 3:30 p.m., with Sunday and holiday dispatch at 2:30 p.m. All outgoing mail goes to Midland for sorting and distribution. The Midland SCF consolidates 43 area post offices, using the midland postmark code 797. Local Pecos postmark remains. Postal officials urge omitting city or local designations on mail.
