Steve Guevara filed Thursday with County Judge Darrell Glover to run for Precinct 3 school trustee in the upcoming April 1 school board election. A Balmorhea resident, he works for LP Gas and studies at Midland College, with a history at Sul Ross and Balmorhea High School. He and his wife Judy have a daughter, Michelle, four, and he attends the Catholic Church and Men’s Club. He previously ran as a write-in in 1970, opposing consolidation and urging broad representation.

Lee Lumber Wins Pecos High Fence Bid
Pecos Lumber Co. owner Cecil J. Lee won a unanimous bid by the Pecos-Barstow Consolidated School District Board of Trustees to install a chain link fence and backstop at Pecos High School baseball field. The contract totals 5,446.53 with 1,492 for the backstop and 3,954.53 for the fence. Work starts soon and should finish by opening day.
