Bessie Haynes Students Produce Own Traffic Safety Filmstrip
Fourth grade at Bessie Haynes Elementary in Mrs. Exum's class created a full color sound filmstrip titled The Safest Show on Earth on passenger bicycle and pedestrian safety. Texas Office of Traffic Safety supplied all materials at no cost and Media Intensive Learning Corporation processed the drawings into a filmstrip with a soundtrack narrated by children. The filmstrip and soundtrack cassette return to the school and become its property. The nationwide program has involved over 500000 children and early Texas data suggest a drop in school related traffic accidents.
