A smiling baby girl named Nancy Ann arrived last Saturday to join Mary and Sally at the Toll home. The newborn is reported healthy with mother and father both resting well. Also welcomed is an 11 pound boy born Tuesday to Mr. and Mrs Keel Williams of Pecos, with the mother and child doing well. Mr. Williams works at the Red Bluff dam.
City Engineer Ben G. Warner explained Pecos will build a powered water system using three wells with at least 200 gallons per minute each, a 10 inch main capable of 500 042 gallons daily, a 200 000 gallon city storage, and automatic controls at the sandpiper and reservoir to regulate pumping and supply to downtown mains.
Pecos residents testify before the Reeves county grand jury about the alleged healing and mystic services of Pedro Ledesina known as Doctor Ledesma. The grand jury votes indictment amid related slaving cases involving Mexican quarter residents.

Mrs W H Drummond returns to Pecos Wednesday night after visiting her son Frank Tut Drummond who recently had an appendicitis operation and was at the bedside for several days.
Foxworth-Galbraith Lamber Co announces MYLTA term loans under federal housing act in Pecos on a limited basis with restrictions. A $5 service charge per $100 loan, under RELA rules, applies. Maximum loan enables modernization or conversion of homes into duplex units as families seek modern housing.
W. E. Poer, former Reeves county grocer, was appointed this week by state relief authorities to take over county relief duties. He fills the vacancy created by the death of Judge Ben Randall in a recent auto accident near Van Horn and will continue as county relief officer. No personnel changes in the local relief office have been announced.

J W Brooks was elected county committeeman to the county cotton committee last week in Pecos. Walter Gardner named local committeeman from Pecos. Balmorhea elected George Berkstresser county and Simm Reeves local committeeman. Saragosa chose Roy Rowe county and Georg Davis local committeemen. County Agent Ted Johnson praised outgoing members for long service while noting a new rule requiring the major income to come from farming.
Crouch, Bulmorhea school superintendent, was elected director general of the county meet. The event will be in Bulmorhea on March 22 and 23 for literary and athletic events. Tennis matches are set for March 16 at Balmorheu as Pecos teams prep for the tournament.
Texas lawmakers will consider a special act to remit state taxes in Reeves Ward Laving and Pecos counties to aid the Red Bluff dam project. Officials from Pecos chamber of commerce and county commissioners plan to press for the measure in Austin with attorney J. K. Straley guiding draft. Estimated saving could reach about 165000, with regional officials coordinating with Senator Ken Regan and Representative Clyde Bradford.
Prominent Pecos attorney and civic leader Judge J. A. Buck died suddenly Monday at his Wichita Falls home after returning from a fishing trip. He was closely connected to Pecos residents through family ties and frequent visits, with funeral services held in Fort Worth on Tuesday.
