Four Injured in Pecos Area Auto Accidents
Four people were injured in auto accidents near Pecos over the holiday weekend with no deaths reported. W. H. Lee of Barstow suffered a fractured skull and broken ribs, Mrs. Lee a broken collar bone and shock, after a collision with Conway Cling on Saturday night. Jess Welch of Pecos Mercantile sustained a head injury and chest pain after his car crashed into McKee Tourist Camp. he was improving by Monday. Former councilman Young Bell, also from Pecos, was hit while crossing Third and Oak, receiving a broken collar bone and head injuries but returned home after treatment. Rain and poor driving conditions were blamed for the three crashes.

70 Piece Band To Be Complete By Jan 1
Uniforms and equipment for a 70 piece marching band will be complete by January 1 in time for the Sun Carnival parade. J. D. Kugle, 57, died at his Grandfalls home after pneumonia. He practiced law in Dallas until two years ago and moved to farming in 1936. He bought most of Grandfalls townsite, profited from land deals, and served as mayor. Survivors include his wife, three sons, two daughters, and his mother.

PurCHASE to Boost Storage in Hepecos City
Hepecos City Council this week completed a deal for a 1 050 000 gallon steel reservoir to upgrade the water system. The tank from the West Texas Refinery plant, dismantled, cost 7000 instead of 22500 and will be installed at the existing site. Erection should finish in 45 days. The 1935 reservoir now holds 200 000 gallons, providing only 10 hours of peak supply. The two tanks together will improve leeway for line breaks and may cut insurance and operating costs by reducing pumping needs.
