Gas line blowout injures three near Barstow
Two men were injured and a third escaped unharmed when a gas line cap blew out during a routine pigging operation at La Vaca Gathering Co Mi Vida plant six miles north of Barstow. Jim Burleson 23 of Cayanosa fractured elbow and rib, kept for observation. Clarence Clark 30 of Monahans had a small leg cut requiring three stitches. Charlie Woods of Fort Stockton was unharmed. Company officials said investigation is not complete and no cause is yet stated.

Surprise storm wets Pecos area with varied rainfall
An unexpected thunderstorm swept through the Pecos area with showers seen across the region. SWIG Cottonoil posted 0.04 inches on the west side, Radio KIM 0.10 in downtown Pecos, and Balmorhea reported 65 inches mid afternoon. Forecast calls for clearing to partly cloudy conditions through Thursday with more afternoon and night storms mainly west of Pecos. Temperatures ranged from the 60s to upper 90s across Texas, with 97-degree peaks and scattered thundershowers statewide.
