Domestic mills show most cotton interest in Far Western markets
Domestic mills showed the most interest in the limited old crop Upland. Prices offered were generally too low to spark trading as low grade supplies outweighed demand. New crop activity remained slow with small purchases by foreign and domestic spinners for early winter delivery. A limited round of new crop contracting centered around 28.50 to 28.60 cents per pound in the San Joaquin Valley. Landed mill quotations held steady for California growths and fell for El Paso goods. The Far Western crop was described as good across producing areas.
