District Clerk Jane Ross leads county workers in updating the jury wheel for the new year. Voter rolls are updated in August, excluding under 21s and exemptions. 100 names are drawn for juries with exemptions for seniors and mothers. Pecos Receives Federal Grant for Day Care Training
Governor Preston Smith announced a $90,000 federal grant to Southwest Educational Development Laboratory in Austin under Title II of the Economic Opportunity Act. The two state project in Texas and New Mexico will train day care staff to serve 600 Mexican American children using SEDL’s bilingual curriculum with staged sessions from summer 1972 through April 1973.
