DPS investigators logged five wrecks on State Highway 17 during gusty low visibility on Thursday afternoon. Visibility dropped to five feet in spots, closing SH 17 from about 1 to 4 30 p.m. One serious injury occurred at 2 51 p m near Cayanosa with a whiplash injury to a man transported to Fort Stockton hospital.
