A hi jacker was killed during an attempted hold up at a store and filling station near Allamore Texas between Sierra Blanca and Van Horn. The incident occurred about 11 o clock Thursday night. Sheriff Louis Roberson of Pecos was asked to pursue one escaped suspect believed headed for Pecos. The skein man remained unidentified.

Ranchers Aid Orphans With Cattle Gift for Dallas Home
In Pecos and surrounding areas, generous ranchers donated a car of beef cattle for shipment to the Juliet Fowler orphanage in Dallas. Rev. Kansas City Man Killed Attempting Train Hop
Raymond Cannaday, 25, of Kansas City, was fatally injured Monday when he tried to hop a moving train at the Texas and Pacific crossing near the ice plant. He slipped and his legs were crushed. he died Wednesday from complications in a local hospital. The Pecos Furniture Co. shipped his body to Kansas City Thursday night for burial.
