Payson Library opens Thursday evening 7 to 9 for patrons. New acquisitions include Neil Armstrong First on the Moon and McCall's Cookbook plus varied titles by I Gold F Yerby E Marshall M Allingham W Jonston M Blythe M Cole S Walker and L Brownfield. A new Payson Welding shop on Main Street offers ornamental iron works and custom welding services.

Moyers Win Big at Gila County Fair
Mr. and Mrs. L H Moyer of Tonto Basin earned 364 ribbons 2 cases of Kerr jars and 30 pounds Spreckles sugar at the Gila County Fair. They dominated canned fruit jams jellies honey and pickles with most prizes for preserves. Mrs. Moyer a Gila County Homemakers leader began entering Pine Fair in 1966 and plans a booth for the Tonto Basin Centennial Celebration.

Monday and Tuesday evenings feature plastercraft and painting instruction with five plaster techniques and basic to build up painting guidance. First class meets Monday 7 30 to 9 30 p m with tools paints and brushes available at the session. Community note celebrates Howard and Rose Childers 50th wedding anniversary in Payson with a gathering at Pete's Place Star Valley Saturday at 4 p m Crafts Day on November 13 invites craft selling or buying with a 2 dollar registration. Craft fair booth sale and wedding notice at First Baptist Church
A booth space for the craft fair is available for all day use with payment due by November 6 at Mr J's. Attendees may sell crafts from classes or store purchases and must register early due to limited space. Coplen-Cline Beckie and Jon Cline wed last Saturday in Pine. Beckie a Payson High School sophomore. Beckie’s late mother is Harrieth Coplen. Jon's parents are Donna Bartram of Strawberry and George Cline of Globe. Jon, a 1976 Payson High graduate, works for Gila County.
