Drug store robbed and man jailed in Arizona drug raid
The Gila County Sheriff's Office vows action as eight people are held on marijuana possession charges. Payson man Craig B. Compton, 21, was arrested after a break in at the Payson Rexall Drug store. He faces two counts of possession of stolen property and possession of dangerous drugs. Bonds set at 3,300 dollars. Phoenix man James Hines, 25, was also apprehended.

Phoenix men won top honors at Payson Fall Festival and Old-time Fiddlers contest drawing almost 5 000 attendees. Jay Belt earned grand championship and crowd favorite, Rudnick nick named state champion and will attend Weiser national finals next year. Belt also named Arizona Old-time Fiddlers Association president and took first in trick and fancy. other winners include D R Whitlock, Gilhien Reid, A W Woody Spinkz, Jody Sixkiller, William Chillcoat, Horace Crandell Senior Fiddler award, and Lyman Keeling.
