First major Arizona forest fire burns 50 acres near Promontory Butte
A 50 acre fire on the Mogollon Rim near Promontory Butte started Monday by a campfire and burned out by Wednesday morning with winds up to 50 mph. About 300 firefighters fought the blaze aided by six aerial tankers. Forest officials warn of possible forest wide fire restrictions starting May 21 and urge strict open flame control.

Gospel Music Festival Opens Summer Events in Payson
