Ground broken for Payson Rumsey Park construction
Payson Mayor Willard Taylor and ex mayor Ted Pettet led a groundbreaking at Rumsey Park to mark start of Payson’s first local park. About 50 people attended as $181,147 federal grant funds 10 acres north of the Rodeo grounds fund the project with land donations from the Chamber of Commerce and Dale Rumsey. The sixth Payson blood drive is today Thursday, organized by Payson Business and Professional Woman's Club. It runs noon to 7 p.m. at Payson North offices near Dr. Worthern, north of Dale's Circle K. Donors aged 17 to 66, healthy and interviewed, help Arizona hospitals.
