Keefer Named Manager of Broken Bow Gas Company
Verne Keefer replaces Milt Frantz as manager after Frantz’s last day of February 15. Frantz, founder and majority stockholder since 1968, will stay in Payson and pursue other business interests. Keefer, with Broken Bow five years and 12 years in the field, is active in Lions Club and has a wife Marion and three children.

Reid completes Lawyers' Military Justice Course
Navy Lieutenant (junior grade) Jonathan L. Reid of Payson has finished the eight week Lawyers' Military Justice Course at the Naval Justice School in Newport Rhode Island. He studied UCMJ rules, evidence, service legal assistance and courts martial procedures to prepare as a military advocate. Reid is a 1973 University of Utah BSc graduate and a 1976 Brigham Young University Doctor of Laws graduate who joined the Navy in October 1974.

Eye Exam Unit May Visit Payson If Interest Exists
The Arizona Medical Eye Unit may visit Payson with a mobile eye clinic funded by the Odd Fellows and Rebekahs. Operated by the University of Arizona Ophthalmology department and the Arizona Ophthalmological Society, the unit offers free exams, identifies legally blind individuals, and refers patients to private doctors for treatment. In the past year it visited 19 rural communities, examining 1 850 people with about 10 percent needing further care.
