Payson honors longtime fire chief Charles Flack with proclamation
Mayor H T Pettet proclaimed Charles W Flack honorary fire chief of the Payson Volunteer Fire Department in a council meeting. Flack served 32 years with the department including two previous terms as chief and helped build Payson’s fire service from its volunteer beginnings.

Two Charged After Bar Fight At Gay Nineties
Deputies responded to a shooting and fight at the Gay Nineties Bar on December 4. Ray Hill 17 and Gary Hardt 32 of Payson faced obstruction and disturbance charges. Hill will be 18 soon and was turned to juvenile authorities. Tim Reed 23 was injured and treated. no other injuries reported.
